Green synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles using polyphenol extracts from pepper waste (Capsicum annuum)

چکیده

The nanoparticles (NPs) synthesis poses an environmental problem: the formation of other toxic substances. An eco-friendlier alternative method based on use polyphenolic extracts is gaining interest due to their potential reduce metal salts for NPs without products. Thus, main objective this work was obtain zinc oxide (ZnO) from pepper rich in polyphenols. To end, polyphenol extraction process set-up using a response surface analysis different parameters involved (i.e. temperature, time, amount and solvent used, type part used -whole fruit, pulp or waste-) terms total content (TPC) antioxidant activity extracts. optimal were synthesize ZnO by colloidal precipitation, which further characterized through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy tests. In addition, green compared with those obtained chemical reagents. synthesized purer (100 88% NPs) smaller (24–43 35–70 nm NPs). results show great synthesis, being contribution sustainability.

Optimization and determination of polyphenol oxidase and peroxidase activities in hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) pericarb

The activities of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and peroxidase (POD) in hot pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) pericarp were evaluated using spectrophotometric method. The enzymes were extracted from the pepper pericarp 5 g with 20 mL of 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution pH 7. PPO and POD activities were determined using catechol and guaiacol as a substrate, respectively. The effects of the amounts of enzyme...

[Evaluation of the mercury accumulating capacity of pepper (Capsicum annuum)].

OBJECTIVE To assess the mercury accumulating capacity in contaminated soils from the community of Mina Santa Cruz, in the south of the department of Bolívar, Colombia, of the pepper plant (Capsicum annuum), in order to establish the risk to the health of the consuming population. MATERIALS AND METHODS Samples were taken from tissues (roots, stems, and leaves) of pepper plants grown in two soi...

Activity and process stability of purified green pepper (Capsicum annuum) pectin methylesterase.

Pectin methylesterase (PME) from green bell peppers (Capsicum annuum) was extracted and purified by affinity chromatography on a CNBr-Sepharose-PMEI column. A single protein peak with pectin methylesterase activity was observed. For the pepper PME, a biochemical characterization in terms of molar mass (MM), isoelectric points (pI), and kinetic parameters for activity and thermostability was per...

Proteome analysis of bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) chromoplasts.

We report a comprehensive proteome analysis of chromoplasts from bell pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). The combination of a novel strategy for database-independent detection of proteins from tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) data with standard database searches allowed us to identify 151 proteins with a high level of confidence. These include several well-known plastid proteins but also novel protei...
